One nice thing that happened today but otherwise I feel like crap
Feeling a lot of bullshit today. What will we possibly do to bring the Zionist genocide to an end? Everything seems hopeless. I'm also really stressed about money. I'm once again feeling that I'll never be able to make ends meet under capitalism. I'm a pretty hard working person, but there is only so long I can spend staring at a screen and typing. Sad to see Zohran say some bullshit about Israel having a right to exist. Jesus christ that's a punch in the gut.
One thing that was cool today was attending the Rideshare Drivers United Protest, and seeing the Uber and Lyft drivers speak up powerfully for their rights as workers. I was impressed to see their determination. And also to know that I'm not alone in my fight for fair and sustainable wages.
I'm so stressed that I'm going to run out of money and not be able to pay rent. Some people try to tell me that's irrational and that I will be fine but my feelings are my feelings and I have a right to feel my feelings. Garen's right that "sometimes a feeling just wants to be felt."
Right now I'm just kind of terrified. Terrified I'll be sent to El Salvador. Terrified I'll run out of money. Sad that none of my friends in New York City seem interested in seeing me (why? what have I done that is so terrible? What have I done that is so offensive to people that they don't respond to my messages, ignore me, etc.). I'm stressed that RFP is going to run out of money. I'm stressed that I don't actually enjoy this job and will have a hard time making myself do it.
I just feel kind of terrible today. Overwhelmed and extremely stressed out by everything. Stressed about money. Depressed about money. Stressed about Palestine. Depressed about Palestine. Everything is too much right now. I can't deal.
Waiting for a check to arrive from my dad. Waiting for money from RFP to arrive in my account. I'll honestly feel much better once some more money arrives in my account. Lol.
Above is a photo of DSA SF member Jason, who is a rideshare driver and a super awesome organizer. He gave a really great speech at the rally. He said something along the lines of: "if one of us stole $10 from someone else, they'd be in big trouble. Well, Uber and Lyft have stolen billions of dollars, and so far nothing has happened to them"
Here is a photo of DSA SF member Robinson N, who is holding the mic for Ibrahim, as Ibrahim talks about his experience as an Uber driver. Ibrahim talked about how rideshare drivers make the city run, and without them nothing would happen in the city. They are the ones to pick you up early in the morning to take you to work, and the ones who pick you up at the bar when you have had too much to drink and can't get yourself home. And then customers puke in their cars, and Uber forces them to pay for the cleaning fees out of their own pocket. Ibrahim also started his speech by mentioning that at no point in history have workers or humans ever been given their rights freely. Rights are always taken through fights, never granted freely. Well said, Ibrahim. I could not agree more. I'm looking forward to remaining connected to this campaign and hopefully finding ways to keep supporting them.
Also where the fuck is this check from my Dad? I'm losing my fucking mind.
